Red Lions back on top of Malawi TNM Super League

Zomba based soldiers Red Lions on Sunday beat Blantyre United 2-1 at Nchalo Stadium in Chikhwawa to earn a top spot in the ongoing K65 million TNM Super League .

The Lions  scored goals through  Kumbukani Mwambene and Ndaona Limbani while Blantyre United had their consolation goal through Sparrow Msowoya.

The soldiers now have 36 points from 20 games they have played so far.

Elsewhere on Sunday, Azam Tigers drew 1-1 with the Kaning’ina soldiers Moyale Barracks away at the Mzuzu Stadium.

Former Flames international Elvis Kafoteka scored for Moyale while Chiletso Zoya scored for Tigers. They return to Blantyre with four points after beating Mzuzu United on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Kamuzu Barracks and Moyale are the highet scoring teams with 30 goals each.

Azam Tigers and Silver Strikers have managed to let in only 12 goals.

Ishmael Thindwa of Epac fc is the leading scorer with 12 goals followed by Moyale’s Deus Nkutu with 8 goals.

Dickson Mbetewa Jnr and Kumbukani Mwambene (Red Lions), Frazer Menyani (Mponela United) and Crispin Fukizi (Moyale) are on third with seven goals each.
