RedRose starts scouring models in Malawi, to go rural areas

Easter Monday this year will go down in history as t a swamp of girls below the age of 30 gatherred at Malawi Sun Hotel’s pool side for the  audition for the country’s sole modelling management agency, RedRose Models, a twig of RedRose Marketing Solutions.

RedRose CEO, Jones Kumwenda, challenged the young girls to the casting call which will see the chosen few have their portfolios which RedRose will create at the finger tip of corporate companies across the global.

“This is an elegant event as we intend to identify unique, smart and above average young models to become international models with the prospect of having their portfolios featured on our website at www.redrosemodeling.comas well as at Yo-Model’s site, which is a global modelling agency.”

Kumwenda added that through this exercise, RedRose will venture into rural areas for to identify models never seen or heard of before.

“We have started with Blantyre and shortly we would be visiting Lilongwe before reaching out to Mzuzu. But our strategic plan is to go to the rural areas to identify hidden models. It is an exercise which various companies can support us.,” he said.

“Our goal is to show that Malawi has talent and beauty and that we are not just Warm Heart of Africa for nothing. Our warm heartedness is self explanatory in glamorous outlook”.

Interested models for this casting call will pay Malawi Sun Hotel only MK500 for having their portfolio created within their premises.

RedRose, the country’s modelling management giant, was formulated by a group of innovative young people upon recognizing that modelling is underrated in Malawi despite being the source of livelihood which if tampered can make young people as much productive as possible.

“As young people, we realized that nothing could be done for us unless we take pro-active action ourselves”.

“This is what motivated us to form RedRose models, and now RedRose Marketing Solutions”.

RedRose is home to models which have been used by National Bank of Malawi, DSTV, and it has worked with Mnena Gaming, Shire Highlands Hotel, Candlex, Illovo, among other companies.

Kumwenda also clarified the formation of RedRose Marketing Solutions, “Upon realizing that some of our clients wanted finished adverts, we decided to widen our horizon into designing adverts for companies which don’t have that capacity as well as contributing ideas to various advertisement and marketing agencies.”

“Building on our vision to turn imagination into reality, our strength lies in the fact that we create adverts with models which would make customers feel obliged to buy and try that particular product”, stressed Kumwenda.

He also revealed that RedRose’s Operations and Director of Photography, Eviengs Baluwa, trained by the University of Manchester is the one  conducting the photo shoot.

In related development, Kumwenda also revealed that preparations for Mr. and Miss Malawi Institution of Management (MIT) are at an advanced stage.

RedRose is hosting the event to be held on the 27th of April, 2012 at MIT Carpark from 7PM in Blantyre, with tickets selling like hot cakes pegged at MK500 in advance and MK 1000 at the gate.
