Blantyre United face relegation in Malawi’s top league TNM Super League alongside rookies Chikwawa United and Karonga United with four to five games remaining between them to wrap up the season.
Blantyre United, formerly a reserve side for Kabula United then known as Escom United—also relegated last year, are second from bottom with 17 points but their maximum points should they win all of their remaining five games is 32.
Blantyre United frustrated Mighty Wanderers with a 1-0 victory last week but the effort was rather too little and too late to save them from facing the drop.
Bottom of the table Karonga United have 16 points with four games to play and their maximum points is 28 while Chikwawa, who are third from bottom with 19 points from have four games to finish the season, have 31 maximum points.
On Sunday in an interesting game Chikwawa United host Blantyre United at Kalulu Stadium while Mighty Wanderers travel to Lilongwe to face Silver Strikers.
