Gondwe said this on Friday when he opened the Institute of Chartered Accounts.

“The institute and other professional bodies should give us advice on how best we should address this problem,” he said.

Malawi is ranked in the last 10 poorest countries in the world.

Gondwe also asked the meeting to discuss sustainable develoment goals (SDGS), corruption and economic problems facing the country.

President of the institute, John Chihana said it is high time the government took the fight against corruption seriously as graft is impacting negatively on the economy.
