Situated about 100 meters from Ginnery corner, the shop has various goods including including electronics at a retail price.

“This is a get way for Malawi products. We give chance to locally made products before we go elsewhere. We want local entrepreneurs to have a platform to sell their produce,” said Sana Cash n Carry Southern Region Manager Alick Mathews Gwichi.

He added that “We are aiming to bring cheap goods to Malawians at a larger quantity than we are offering now. As you know that it’s only Sana that sells good at a very cheap price, sometimes as low as at a wholesale price, so we decided to have a larger shop to ease the congestion and to see into it that our customers are shopping at a peaceful place.”

Apart from creating employment and a conducive buying place, Gwichi added that the center will give an opportunity to small scale farmers to sell their produce at a fair price.

“We would want to give a chance to farmers who are into fruit and vegitable farming that they should come forward with their quality products and we will buy from them at a reasonable price, this is their shop and we are here to give them a platform,” he said

Guest of honour at the opening ceremony fomer cabinet minister Yunus Mussa said the opening of the new shop shows that the chain store is growing.

“The shop offers employment to over 200 employment to locals with good wages which is a plus to Malawi,” said Mussa.

The shop sells goods on retail basis but at wholesale price.
