Shasha to face Chimbalanga on Easter Saturday
Malawi Defense Force based boxer Wilson ‘Shasha’ Masamba will this Saturday face Alex Chimbalanga in a Non title bout.
Organizer and promoter of the fight Benjamin Sambili said the bout will take place at B-Square in Lumbadzi.
“I came up with this idea of promoting boxing here in Lumbadzi because people here do not have the feeling of boxing since most fights take place in Lilongwe or Blantyre; so people here have to travel long distances to watch boxing, so I thought it wise to organize this bout to reduce their problem of distance,” said Sambili.
On the welfare of the boxers, Sambili said he has everything under control and every boxer will go home with what they negotiated and agreed on adding that they have hired expert referees and judges for the bout to avoid unbiased decisions.
Commenting on the bout, Shasha Masamba said he is well prepared.
“Since I fought last month with the Zimbabwean boxer, I did not take any break. I am well prepared and I request all my supporters to come in large numbers to support me as they usually do and they should expect good results from me,” said Masamba.
Among other curtain raisers, the main supporting bout will see Robert Chimbalanga facing Daniel Lombola.
Entrance fee to watch the bout expected to start at 2 pm is pegged at K2, 000.
