Sheik Kanyamula, Malawi Muslim leader dies
Former Muslim Association of Malawi (MAM) National Chairman Sheikh Yusuf Kanyamula has died.
Kanyamula who until his death was a member of MAM Board of Trustees died in the wee hours of Monday 2 March, 2015.
The Sheikh , who served as member of Public Affairs Committee and translated Holy Quran from Arabic to Chichewa, who died at his home in Liwonde of a heart attack.
He will be remembered for doing a lot of good work for Islam in the country including translation of many Islamic literatures
Kanyamula has also been doing Dawah as well as some programmes on Radio Islam which have brought unity among Muslims in Malawi.
“His wise counsel made him a truly significant figure,” one Moslem told Nyasa Times
“He was enormously respected and he himself respected everyone.”
