Mzuni came from behind twice to salvage a point thanks to a brace scored by Lughindiko Mushani.

This means that Central Region giants Silver Strikers have temporarily overtaken Mafco to take the lead following a 3-0 demolition over Dwangwa United at the Nankhaka stadium where Victor Limbani also registered a brace.

The Bankers now have 40 points from 20 games while Mafco have  moved to third with 38 points following the two points dropping.

But Mafco stand a chance of reclaiming the top spot as they face Moyale Barracks at Mzuzu Stadium on Sunday since Silver will be on by.

Nyasa Big Bullets kept their dream  alive and extended their chance of defending the title after beating MTV Max Bullets 3-0 at the Kamuzu Stadium.

They moved to second position with 39 points from 21 games thanks to goals from Mussa Manyenje, Diverson Mlozi and Chiukepo Msowoya who scored from a rebound after Max Bulltes goalkeeper Carlington Misomali had served his spot kick awarded in the added time.

Red Lions continue their fine form after beating Blue Eagles who have been pushed out of the top four 2-0 at the Zomba Community ground.

At the Civo stadium, new Mighty Be Forward Wanderers coaches Yasin Osman and Bob Mpinganjira passed their first test by winning their opening match four days after their appointment this week replacing Edington Ng’onamo and Eliah Kananji who were fired due to the team’s poor run of form.

The Nomads beat Civo 2-1 courtesy of a Joseph Kamwendo beautifully taken free kick and a clinical finish from Nigerian international Amos Bello who came in as a second half substitute.

Action continues on Sunday with Wanderers facing Kamuzu Barracks at Civo stadium, Moyale host Mafco while Premierbet Wizard welcome Blue Eagles at the Kamuzu Stadium.

On Monday, Nyasa Big Bullets will face Red Lions, Dwangwa face Civo at Chitowe while Karonga United play Mzuni FC and finally Epac play host to Silver at Civo stadium.
