Silver beat Dwangwa to go top, Mafco tumbles to give away lead
Mafco FC on Saturday failed to maintain the top spot as the heat gets hotter and battle for championship in the elite Tnm Super League continues after being forced to a 2-2 draw against much improved Mzuni FC.
Mzuni came from behind twice to salvage a point thanks to a brace scored by Lughindiko Mushani.
This means that Central Region giants Silver Strikers have temporarily overtaken Mafco to take the lead following a 3-0 demolition over Dwangwa United at the Nankhaka stadium where Victor Limbani also registered a brace.
The Bankers now have 40 points from 20 games while Mafco have moved to third with 38 points following the two points dropping.
But Mafco stand a chance of reclaiming the top spot as they face Moyale Barracks at Mzuzu Stadium on Sunday since Silver will be on by.
Nyasa Big Bullets kept their dream alive and extended their chance of defending the title after beating MTV Max Bullets 3-0 at the Kamuzu Stadium.
They moved to second position with 39 points from 21 games thanks to goals from Mussa Manyenje, Diverson Mlozi and Chiukepo Msowoya who scored from a rebound after Max Bulltes goalkeeper Carlington Misomali had served his spot kick awarded in the added time.
