Silver extend tenure for interim coaches Chirwa, Songo
TNM Super League defending champions Silver Strikers have extended the tenure of interim coach Stain Chirwa’s and his assistant Francis Songo.
Chirwa stepped in for suspended Franco Ndawa coaching panel of Itai Nundwe and Hellings Mwakasungula in July.
Silver general secretary Mike Tembo confirmed that the duo will continue the job until a decision is made on the fate of Ndawa and his backroom staff.
With two wins and two losses in cup and league games, Chirwa believes he and right hand man Francis Songo have done enough to earn permanent jobs. Silver finished the first phase of the league on position seven, with 22 points.
Chirwa and Songo will guide the bankers in Luso TV Clash of the Giants mini tournament set for Civo Stadium this weekend.
On Saturday, Silver face Big Bullets after Wanderers and Epac clash and the winners face off in the final on Sunday.
