Silver fortunate to scrape a win against luckless Tigers
Defending champions Silver Strikers title defence hopes were given a boost when the Bankers beat Azam Tigers 1-0 in the elite TNM Super League match played at Kamuzu Stadium on Sunday.

The Bankers had struggled to break down their stubborn opponents and almost went behind in the early stages of the game.
But the unconvincing visitors broke the deadlock in the second half strikers Blessings Tembo planted in the net the winner.
The win keeps Silver in with a fighting chance of defending the title, if they maintain the winning streak as they had started the season by forfeiting six nine points and were docked three points last week for fielding a suspended player
“We came here with a game plan and we executed it really well,” said Silver coach Stain Chirwa after the game.
The Bankers were without their four key players Chawanangwa Kawonga, Green Harawa, Lucky Malata and Thoko Stambuli.
Tigers also missed the services of their three key players
