Silver lose title hope: Young says ‘we no longer depend on ourselves’

Silver Strikers  head of technical panel Young Chimodzi  was left to rue his side’s lack of cutting edge after its TNM Super League v title prospects took a severe dent in a one-all draw at Mzuzu Stadium against Mzuzu University (Mzuni) FC.

“We no longer depend on ourselves to win the league title,” said Chimodzi.

He said “technically”, Silver still have “a mathematical chance” to win the  title, but “realistically” it is beyond their control.

The tactician said the only way to win the title is expecting favourites and league leaders Be Forward Wanderers and their chasers Nyasa Big Bullets to falter in the campaign from their remain five matches.

Silver will next meet Bullets this Sunday.

Chimodzi said the fixture is  another big game in which the club has  chance to make amends, though, and the coach  has urged Silver  players to do just that on Sunday.
