Silver, Nomads clash in opening game of TNM Super League 2014/15 edition

Defending champions Silver Strikers launches their TNM Super League title defence away at the Kamuzu Stadium in the commercial city of Blantyre on Saturday April 19th, 2014 against Mighty Wanderers, according to a fixture released by Sulom at the weekend.

Super league of Malawi (Sulom) has lined up a total of nine games to be played in the opening week.

Wanderers will be looking forward to revenge after being whipped 1-0 by the central bankers in the quarterfinal of the Lilongwe University College of Law Bonanza played last weekend in which the Bankers went on to win the charity cup and pocketed K1 million.

But both teams will start at a disadvantage having been punished for the violence that occurred in their encounter at Balaka Stadium on December 28 2013, where a fan, Lemiyasi Josita, lost his life.

Civo Service United will open the new season at home against Azam Tigers who will on Sunday face Kamuzu Barracks at the same venue.

Rookies Chikwawa United plays their debut game against Salima based soldiers Mafco F.C at the Chitowe Stadium.

An exciting encounter is expected on Sunday at the same Chitowe Stadium as there will be an all rookies affair involving Airborne Rangers and Chikwawa United.

People’s Team Bullets F.C have a tricky opening away fixture against Mzuzu based soldiers Moyale Barracks.

Another thrilling encounter will be witnessed at the Nankhaka Stadium where there will be a Lilongwe derby involving Blue Eagles and Epac F.C

Meanwhile, Sulom is reminding all clubs to finalize transfer arrangements as the transfer window closes on 18th April, 2014.
