Silver offers trio full time coaching job

Three long serving players at Silver Strikers who guided the club to a K60 Million TNM Super League championship last season has finally been given a full time job at the club.

Goalkeeper Sibusiso Padambo, midfielder Hellings Mwakasungura and defender Itayi Nundwe took over the leadership of the club towards the end of the second round of the last season following a bizarre performance under the leadership of Dan Dzinkambani and Meke Mwase.

In the last eight games which the trio was in-charge alongside Thom Nkolongo as Technical Director, the club revived with fantastic spirit to win the title.

Itaye: To take full time charge with the other two

While confirming the development, the club’s General Secretary, Owen Munthali, said the players will soon be sent for coaching course abroad in order to equip them with coaching papers and improve their knowledge.

“It is true that we have appointed Heilings, Sibusiso and Itayi as full time coaches following their impressive form during the short period they have been with the club as caretaker coaches,” said Munthali.

“They did a very good job,” he added.

Munthali said the decision to promote the three players into a full time coaching role was made by all members of the club executive committee at a meeting held at the club house in Area 47 in Lilongwe on Monday.

Reacting to the news, one of the appointed members Padambo said he feels good to be given a full time job alongside Mwakasungura and Nundwe.

He also promised to give out the best and saluted Silver supporters for their massive support and love towards the club.
