It was Chirwa’s  second spell in charge at the Bankers but all has come to a sour end following inconsistent results.

Silver’s general secretary Fred Kalonga confirmed to Nyasa Times that Chirwa has been sent packing with his backroom staff which included assistant coach Peter Mgangira, Itaye Nundwe, Subisiso Padambo and Francis Songo.

“”Silver Strikers football club can today confirm that Stain Chirwa has been relieved of his duties and is no longer club coach,” Kalonga told Nyasa Times.

He said Silver has thanked Chirwa for his “hard work and energy” during the time he was in charge.

Chirwa said he has accepted his dismissal.

“I’ve no complaints about that,” he said.

Meanwhile, Silvr has re-engaged its legend and former coach Young Chimodzi, who was recently fired as Malawi tactician.

Chimodzi will be assisted by another former club legend Lovemore Fazili.

  1. Congrats Lovemore Fazili. Wishing you all the best. God is with us ine anatichotsa wopanda chifukwa last time

  2. Akuluakulu musandinyozere a dadi anga , adatero Mr Chakuda. How can you call my dad the dobadoba. That is too much. You had gone too far. Will you remain as youthful as you are forever? Dad dont worry we love you as our only bread winner.

  3. Really Mr Chirwa is too old for the job. I dont think the man can do sporting exercises on the pitch. I was happy to hear that he is going back home, lakeshore district to join the fishing community. Then I said wawu, that’s talking. Fishing is the right job for Mr. Chirwa for the remaining part of his life. Staraight away he will be appointed the chairman of the fishing ground as soon as he arrives in Nkhata Bay Fishing Ground. If anything he will be coaching sand beach social football team after fishing. All the best Mr Chirwa in your new life settlement in the lakeshore villages.

  4. A silver masiku sakoma onse. ngakhale man U chaka chatha maplayer omwewo koma anangoyamba kulephera mpaka season kutha. Kodi chimodziyo wachotsedwa ka ngati ku silver mudzingozunguliratu. Blantyre teams woyeeeeeeeeeeeee. Lilongwe Ziiiiiiiiiiiiiii

  5. We have one problem ku Malawi kuno. The fact that someone was a good player doesn’t mean that he can be a good coach. Most players don’t invest and when their career ends the only way to survive is to pretend they can coach. When did we last hear of Fazili taking a coaching course. Are we sure he will bring new ideas?

  6. Does that man look like a coach? Sometimes even appearances demotivates the very same people you are trying to teach/coach/gloom. This man if someone saw him on the streets and has not heard of him as a coach would be mistaken for a dobadoba.

  7. Muziona uku nkuyamba ndipo chimodzi achita kuyaluka kuposa chirwa. Walephera national team ndiye ka silver mmmm. Manoma woyeee

  10. Mmmm backroom staff imeneyi…I could see, there were lots of interferences on the coach’s job. Not every former player poses technical skills of the game….ofunika enawo kumawapezera zina zochita ndithu!
