Silver tumbles in Kenya friendly against Tusker FC

Malawi’s 2018 Confederation Cup flag carriers Silver Strikers on Friday suffered a 2-0 defeat in an international friendly match against Kenya’s Tusker F.C. at the Ruaraka Grounds.

Tusker’s new signing Mike Madoya bagged a brace for the home side.

He opened the scoring in the 35th minute through before completing his brace two minutes after recess.

Silver Strikers were using the match as a build up for their CAF Confederations Cup tie against Gabonese opposition Cercle Mbéri Sportif.

Team Manager for Silver, Sibusiso Padambo attributed the loss to poor conditions of the pitch.

However, Padambo said some lessons were learnt during the friendly encounter.

Silver Strikers were drawn against Gabonese side A.O CMS in the Confederation Cup.
