Singer Pacharo Mpokosa challenges fellow artists to focus on spreading gospel not fame

Lilongwe based gospel singer Pacharo Jere Mpokosa has urged fellow gospel musicians to focus on spreading the word of God through music not for Money and celebrity statuses. Jere said this in an interview with Nyasa Times when she also unveiled her plans to launch her brand new album Ndikupita which was produced in December last year.

The artist said music is the best means of spreading gospel and that can easily transform people’s lives since it comes in a form of entertainment.

“My message is that we should not look down on ourselves but we should be serious because God want to use us to his glory. Let us not be money or celebrity oriented but let us focus much on ministerial duties” she explained.

The singer who started singing in 2009 and has three albums to her credit is set to launch het fourth album titled ‘Ndikupita’.

Ndikupita is an album which has different messages that include encouraging people who are going through tough times in life. It is also talking more about salvation.

“Title track on its on is giving a message that no matter whatever difficulties I may come across in life, I will never be shaken but forge ahead,” she said.

The singer therefore revealed that her new album which was recorded and produced by Joseph Tembo at Groove Margic and contains genres like Passada, Reggae and Carispo will be first launched in Lilongwe on 30th July at Sheafer Marquee Loungee before holding a re-launch at Robbins Park in Blantyre on 6th August 2017.

Here previous albums are Thanthwe Langa, Ndili Nawo Umboni and Tsogolo Langa.

She revealed that her favourite local artist is late Grace Chinga while on the international scene she goes for South Africa’s Rebecca Malopa .
