Speaker mourns death of Clerk on Parliamentary Service
Speaker of Parliament Catherine Gotani Hara has mourned the death Henry Njolomole who until his death was Deputy Clerk of of Parliament responsible for parliamentary services.
According to a statement from the office of the speaker, Njolomole died on Monday 6th July, 2020 at Masm Area 12 Clinic.
Speaker Hara said: “Late Mr. Njolomole had in depth practical knowledge of our Parliament. He provided invaluable input into Parliamentary procedure documents for use of Honourable Members and staff. He will be deeply missed.”
On her part, the Clerk of Parliament , Fiona Kalemba described him as a legend for parliamentary procedures.
“He was a Malawi parliamentary procedure and practice legend, very consistently confident in his guidance. He was the calming personality in our everyday storms at Parliament,” she said.
“To me personally, he was the natural definition of a right hand man. He held my hand, always. I mourn him deeply,” she added
The cause of Njolomole’s death is not related to Covid-19.
Late Njolomole joined parliament on 1st July, 2001. His burial takes place Wednesday at Cheyadi Village, T/A Zulu in Mchinji District.

Njolomole was loved by many both within and outside Parliament. He started working there as AO in the 1980s. RIP.
