Speaker’s PA busted for theft of laptop: Malawi Police arrest him

He has duped one too many around town with recleckless abandon. He’s eluded the long arm of the law. A shrewd contriver has finally met his Day 40. He couldn’t deny the CCTV footage at the seat of the Republic of Malawi which testified he had stolen a laptop.

Police in Lilongwe have arrested a personal assistant to Speaker of Parliament Richard Msowoya.

Online reports say Patrick Kayira was arrested on Thursday for allegedly stealing a laptop at Capital Hill.

“CCTV footage showed him stealing the laptop. He has since confessed to the offence,” says the reports.

The reports indicate National Assembly officials were meeting to discuss his issue so that he is suspended from his job and later dismissed after a court verdict.

This is  embarrassing to Msowoya who has been a target of smear by the ruling Democratic Progressive Party.

Msowoya is opposition Malawi Congress Party vice president.

  13. Msowoya already know that the man is like that and Msowoya shield him so that he ( Msowoya) should be blaming government for the missing things. Even his official vehicle keys which Kabwila used when running away from arrest was given to her by this personal assistant

  28. The PA of Msowoya has beans to spill. This was a scheme with his boss Richard Msowoya and mwana wagwidwa. News around parliament says he got the Laptop with Msowoya’s knowledge. Kayira should be asked deeper and he will tell the truth. Msowoya is implicated in this. The ACB director Matemba yesterday said Msowoya was interrogated about theft of public resources. Today, Msowoya’s assistant is arrested for stealing public laptop. Go deeper.
