Balunga said the draw was a true reflection of the game as Malawi dominated the first half while the hosts took charge in the second half.

“Malawi’s team  is good. We pushed them in the second half and we could have got a winning a goal,” he said.

“I think it was a balanced game. I believe a two-all draw is true reflection of the game. Although we wanted to win a draw is Okay.”

He said Malawi frustrated his plans to record a second successive win in the campaign after beating Guinea 2-0  in their first game.

The Swaziland coach also was cautious on being favourites to win the group as they are currently on the summit of the group.

“There’s still a long way to go,” he said.

Flames coach Ernest Mtawali said despite throwing away the lead twice in the game saluted his charges for salvaging a draw away.

“We should have won this game. We gave away the lead  twice and they were easier goals. We failed to play our planned game to keep possession,” Mtawali said.

“But we still have a chance in this group. A point away from home is not that bad. There are four more games to go. We just have to make sure that we win all our home matches.”

Flames  were hoping to put back their campaign on course after a 2-1 loss to Zimbabwe at Kamuzu.

  7. l saalute u Enerst for your good selection of team players to play in Swazilnd. Getting a point away as such its a great deal indeed,. Bravo Enerst, that is what we are looking for.

  8. Conguraturation the new Techninicle with the new youthful team. No entry by name in national squad, but perfomance. How could we win Zimbabwe when Gelrad Phiri jnr and Chiukepo Msowoya were not in the squad. Maitain this team so that they gain confidence.

  9. Typicla Malawians, we easily get satisfied with little things. How do these guys play one game and go on vacation? zoona? they should be here preparing the team for next game. Zausilu basi.

  10. I totally support Drake’s ideas. Let us cast our nets wide. Keep it up Earnest and your friend, you seem to be compartible.

  11. Ernest congratulations for not loosing in Swaziland, please keep the young team and look for more players in the Districts, Malawi now needs defenders and goalkeepers. WE REALLY NEED A GOOD GOALKEEPER who can be frustrating other teams. Our Mid field is good our striking force is struggling abit, the old team was not commited to give us results they were simply tourists who enjoyed travelling to places. Now we have a young team which is hungry for results and this team must be supported. I would suggest that our National team recruitment must not be restricted to superlegue and urban teams only, we have to cast the net wide, we should demand that each district must send two best players to be assesed by the National team coaches, this should be a yearly program.
