Three killed in Mzimba Bus accident, 41 people injured
A Matours bus registration MN 4129 traveling from Karonga to Lilongwe has overturned at Jenda killing three people on the spot while 41 others have been seriously injured at around 1am on Thursday.
It is reported that the bus lost control and overturned as the driver was trying to avoid a stationary vehicle loaded with logs of pine trees and ended up in the drain.
Mzimba District Hospital Public Relations Officer, Ellings Nyirenda confirmed of the accident saying 3 people were pronounced dead at the hospital while 33 attended treatment at Jenda health centre and 8 others were rushed to Mzimba District hospital for further medical attention.
Efforts to speak to Mzimba Police proved futile as the Spokesperson said he was yet to gather information on the incident.

That’s carelessness. It means the driver was overspeeding and only saw the truck when he was close. Or he was dozing and saw the truck late.
