Thunder Queens wallop Tigresses 50-48 in Rainbow Paints

Battle for championship in the Southern Region Rainbow Paints continues to be tough and interesting among the top four teams as Thunder Queens increased their chances by putting themselves in the title race after walloping Tigresses 50-48 baskets on Friday at Blantyre Youth Centre.

Sindi Simutowe returned to action for Tigresses and Lauren Ngwira also played

The two teams displayed a good quality of play starting from first quarter up to the last one.

Thunder Queens managed to lead in all quarters but Tigresses pushed match 47-47 and 48-48 baskets in the last minutes after Thunder players started playing a relaxing game.

But with 2 minutes to go before the umpire blew the final whistle, Thunder came into the match and scored two quick baskets through  to win the match 5-48  and finish the first round on position 2 with 24 points.

Tigresses is currently on position 4 with 16 points   and it welcomed their star Sindie Simtowe in the match who was featured for the first time after spending eleven months without plaging due to leg injury.
