Central Region Football League outfit Tiakalulu FC players have been challenged to beat Southern Region Lower league side Dululu FC with a morale boost of cash prize from their management.
Nyasa Times understands that the management through Technical Director Africano Phiri have promised the players that each go scored will go away with a K25, 000 cash prize if they beat Dululu to reach the quartferfinals of the inaugural K45 Million Fisd Challenge Cup.
While confirming the development, Phiri expressed high hopes of winning the match in an interview with Zodiak Radio on Friday.
Dululu FC gained popularity following an impressive form leading to winning the champions of the Southern Region in the Carlsberg Cup.
Phiri said preparations have been going on well and that they are ready for the showdown.
When asked about their ambition and target in the Fisd Cup, Phiri said just like any other team, they joined the tournament with an intention to compete as well as to win the Fisd Cup.
If they beat Dululu on Saturday, Tiakalulu’s next meeting will be against Blue Eagles who on Wednesday reached the quarterfinals after beating Civo United narrowly by a goal to nil.
The other quarterfinal round of 16 Fisd Challenge Cup match will be played at the Balaka Stadium where Msanama FC date Rumphi Pirates who are travelling all the way from the northern region.
The winner between the two sides will progress to the quarterfinals to face Kamuzu Barracks who knocked out Epac FC 4-2 through post-match penalties following a barren draw.
