Tigers widening their search for coach: No deal for Gerald as Kananji is considered
Azam Tigers chairman Sydney Chikoti has said the club has not recruited Gerald Phiri to be head coach, saying they are still searching for Franco Ndawa replacement.

Tigers technical director Robin Alufandika disclosed this week that the club has offered former Mighty Wanderers and Big Bullets mentor, Gerald Phriri a three-year contract deal.
But Chikoti said Phiri, former Bullets title winning coach Eliah Kananji, Zimbabwean Raman Gumbo are all under consideration as Kau-Kau’s work out a shortlist for a new head coach.
“We are still in hunt for a new coach. There has been no interviews and deal yet,” said Chikoti.
Tigers chairman’s comments have sharply contradicted Alufandika.
Alufandika is reportedly said to have handpicked Gerald.
