Times rejects calls to call back Brian Banda

Times Media Group is defiantly rejecting calls to recall maverick television presenter Brian Banda who resigned following accusations of professional misconduct.

In a four paragraph statement, Times Group management says it is aware that there are some listeners and viewers of both Times radio and television who miss services of Brian Banda as host on both media platforms.

“Management assures the listeners and viewers that arrangements are underway to identify and replace Brian Banda with new talent in keeping with the ethical behavior and operating standards at Times Group as the leading media house in the country,” says the statement.

Banda was fired before at the company but was recalled after public demand before he resigned last month following the recent incident.

  9. Brain Banda was too corrupt. That is why he was called upon to resign to save the face of Times group. Amalandira ndalama from opposition leaders to furnish image ya ruling party and everyone on the side of government. He was a stooge wa Saulosi and Chakwera and leaking their boots. Management of Times TV and radio took note the reputation was good down and could not stomach it anymore. He is a disgrace to the newsrooms. Let him start his own radio station azikalalata kumeneko because no any other radio can-hire him chifukwa Atha kuigwetsa radio station yo.

  16. Management must put its foot down. Good at your job does not mean every rule and regulation of work must be broken. Good employees must help organisations they work for by being exemplary. Talent or no talent discipline in the work place is sacrosanct

  18. Brian is probably lobbying people to ask for his return, but apparently the mistake he made is professionally too grave for forgiveness.

  19. Man of principle, if you catch your spouse cheating in your bedroom, will you keep her/him just because they do things that please you? What would be the outcome of keeping a spouse who is well known for cheating. Won;t that give them a licence to do worse things? People should not be exempted from punishment just because they are good. Being professionally good and having sound moral go together and these should not be compromised.

If he is good enough he will find another job. Unfortunately we all know he is unethical and corrupt. That’s a big dent in anybody’s CV

  30. Brian Banda is more talented they wont manage to find replacement to be like him or to outclass him. Look at Capital FM they tried to bring new talent but never won the heart of viewers as compared to the time Brian Banda was there. He is unique and it is obvious that we Malawians are very jealousy people we dont want someone to outshine us.       BRIAN BANDA HAS SPECIAL TALENT THAT WILL BE VERY DIFFICULT TO REPLACE.

      1. You have to read more between the lines. In such cases the ruling party normally pays somebody to create dirty that leads to somebody falling or to be removed from his position especially in case Of Brian who was a thorn in the flesh of Dpp or very critical of Govt. Normally they would put Times Radio and Tv and newspapers in the corner by not giving it business or asking them to fire Brian or the critic for return of business. This is the dirty being played here.
