Titha Communications Office Ronnex Joseph Phiri said the donation was made as a way of addressing challenges that needy pupils face at the school.

“We looked at a scenario whereby a pupil whose parents are unable to buy a school uniform goes into a classroom where all pupils are in school uniforms. Definitely this can be a setback, this child may lose focus on the lessons being learnt because of his or her situation that is why Titha has come in to extend a helping hand to these pupils,” He said

Phiri said the organization believes that education is the backbone of the country’s socio-economic development but for pupils, especially those learning in rural schools to excel in their studies; they need to have adequate learning materials.

He added “people cannot talk about uplifting education standards in Malawian schools when learning materials and other requirements are not available”.

According to Phiri, the donation has been made possible with support from Progressive Research and Marketing Consultancy, Nevo Computer Systems and individual contributions.

In his remarks Deputy Head teacher Felix Mlozi expressed gratitude for the donation saying it is a great motivation to the needy students.

“We thank Titha for the timely donation, we truly believe that this will go a long way in motivating pupils to be in class, we are very grateful for that,” He said

He also appealed to well-wishers to borrow a leaf from Titha and extend a helping hand to needy pupils in different schools across the country.

Founded in February, 2017 Titha is a youth movement which encompasses young focused youths and energetic adults who are passionate and willing to make a difference in their own lives as well as in others through committing themselves into various developmental projects
