TNM Super League update,Thindwa gets award

After Malawi’s frustrating 1 all draw with Tunisia on Saturday, all the attention on Sunday shifted to the TNM Super League as the battle for points continued with victories for Silver Strikers, Moyale, defending champions Escom United, Blue Eagles and draws for Mighty Wanderers and their rivals Bullets FC.

Silver Strikers laboured to a 3 – 2 victory over stubborn Epac FC at the Silver Stadium.

The central bankers scored through Frank Banda, Peter Pindani and Asedi Ayami while Super League’s top goal scorer Ishmael Thindwa increased his tally to 10 goals with the other goal coming in from Wonderful Timeyo.

Thindwa: Top scorer, player of the month of August

Embangweni United had one of their darkest days at home when Moyale walloped them 4 – 0.

Gastin Simkonda scored a brace with Andrew Simkonda and Boy Boy Chima helping him to convincingly beat their opponents.

Defending champions Escom United were 2 – 0 winners over Zomba United with goals from Noel Mkandawire and Chimwemwe Nyakamera.

It was another disappointing afternoon for Civo as Blue Eagles grabbed maximum points in a 2 – 1 victory. Chikondi Mpulula and John Banda did the damage while Dickson Mbetewa pulled one back for Civo.

Mighty Wanderers and Blantyre United equalled power at Balaka stadium. It ended 1 all with Innocent Dzimbiri on target for the Nomads while Oswald Maonga scored for Blantyre United.

Bullets Fc and Red Lions also shared the spoils at the Kamuzu stadium in another 1 all draw. Kelvin Katema opened the day’s scoring business before Godfrey Musonda equalised for the ‘people’s team’.

In the Silver Strikers/Epac Fc game, sponsors TNM and the Super league of Malawi Sulom awarded top goal scorer Ishmael Thindwa for being the league’s player of the month of August.
