Conferring an honorary professorship on APM for his ‘achievements’ as President of Malawi simply demonstrates how cynical are the Chinese. They are simply pandering to his own self-importance. By building him up they know they will be able to twist him round their little finger and get what they want from any aid agreement. APM is not sophisticated enough to see through their ploy and will be taken for a ride to the detriment of his fellow Malawians.

Peter has already academic professorship. Why would one want an honorary? Some true African presidents have been refusing this rubbish. This guy is a waste of time to the country. An d one wonders the basis for the the honour, is it corruption, lies, nepotism, blackouts, hunger, cluelessness etc?

Its it not strange that these Chinese Universities are honouring other people and not their own politicians? The Chinese Prime Minster is not a Professor, but here in Malawi we have someone decorated with so many honours and titles but with nothing to show for. Development does not need these decorations. Only African are the ones who believe in these titles for themselves.
