Tough test for Escom in the Capital City

Malawi TNM Super League champions Escom United continue their title defence with tough fixtures this weekend as they travel to the capital city, Lilongwe.

And the big  five-  Escom United, Mighty Wanderers, Big Bullets, Civo United, Big Bullets and  Silver Strikers-all in mouth watering fixtures.

Capital City soccer fans will on Saturday trek to Civo Stadium to watch bloody tussle between visiting Escom United and Civo.

The champions storm Area 3 territory with full knowledge of  the what a loss or draw means and coach Charles Manda will not let the chance, of being three points clear off  ‘Sir’ Alex Masanjala’s side, slip by.

With the services of Ndaziona Chatsalira, Noel ‘Amfumu’ Mkandawire, Chimango Kayira and Chimodzi Junior, the Electricians will be looking forward to set Civo Stadium ablaze with electricity fire.

However, the Electricians are aware that stepping Area 3 and coming out with victory is a huge mountain to climb.

Civo boosts of injury free squad of Martin Masoapola, Emmanuel ‘Siyeni’ Zoya and John ‘Kintu’ Lanjesi.

The battle of points for Escom will progress on Sunday, as they invade the Cops territory in Area 30 to face limping Blue Eagles.

Things have fallen apart in Area 30. Limping Blue Eagles will need more than mother luck to overcome the problems that have locked their camp and get past tough Escom United.

Definitely the odds are against the capital city out-fit that have been plunging from one crisis to another.

Not only without any victory in the second round of the elite league. The side fired its coach and axed nine players for poor form.

In other fixtures on Saturday, Cobbe Barracks will take on Embangweni United, as Blantyre United host Silver Strikers at Kalulu.

On Sunday, team of the moment Azam Tigers will face Embangweni United at Kalulu, as Mighty Wanderers travels to the old capital city to meet Zomba United.

Big Bullets have a tricky assignment against Epac United at Kamuzu Stadium while Red Lions face Silver Strikers in Balaka.
