Truck drivers defiant, says strike is on Monday
Truck drivers have defiantly said the strike slated for Monday will still go ahead with or without a court injunction.
The chairman of the Truck Drivers Association Francis Mkandawire said his committee members have not received the said court injunction which attorney general Kalekeni Kaphale obtained on Friday restraining the drivers from staging the strike.
“We are just reading this in social media platforms. We have not been served so with or without the court injunction, our strike is on,” said Mkandawire.
He said the strike can be cancelled only after reaching an agreement with their employers and the government over pay rise and improved conditions of work.
Minister of Labour Martha Lunji was upbeat a solution to the impasse would be found before Monday.
These injunctions have been reduced to oppression tools and therefore to the oppressed it is better to be obedient to the ruling of truth and justice than to be obedient to oppressing legal jargon that have been crafted by the oppressor in order to uphold his injustice. I personally support the stand taken by the truckers. It is better to be disobedient to unjust law in order to be obedient to a higher just law that confirms the sovereignty of God’s truth over falsehood.
Hahaha u must have studied Jurisprudence
A kaphale, mboli yanu. Muziwona zotengela injunction. Shupiti. Fuck you. Am a serious truck driver.
Good move, after all why is this so called AG concerned? I thought truck owners could be the one getting an injunctions? Why did a judge accept it in the first place as it was coming from a third party?
Mr. Kamphale (our hopeless lawyer) resolving dispute through court injunction is like treating Malaria with panado. You are treating fever not Malaria. No wonder you have messed out chance to win an election case because you are clueless. I wish Mr. Mhango was still an AG. He would have managed this case better. You are the worst AG Malawi has ever had since 1964.
