Two jailed 9 years for defiling four and nine year old girls

The Nkukula Second Grade Magistrate Court in Lilongwe has convicted and sentenced William John (39) and George Fostino (62) to eight years Imprisonment with Hard Labour (IHL) each after being found guilty of defiling two young girls aged four and nine.

The court through State Prosecutors Sub-Inspector Charles Elias and Sergeant Patrick Mkumbi heard that the two committed the offences separately on 10th November 2017 and on 25 June the same year.

The two incidences happened at Area 25C and Chatata Location in the same township of Lilongwe.

Before passing he judgement, Presiding Judge Magistrate Cecilia Onsewa exprenced concern and disappointment with the increasing number of sexual related cases against young girls.

She said such people deserve stiff punishment so that it be a warning to other would be offenders.

Onsewa therefore slapped the two with an eight year jail term to the duo.

She said defilement is a serious offence that causes serious damage to the victim both physically and mentally leaving the victim traumatised the rest of her life.

Meanwhile, Kanengo Police Deputy Spokesperson Esther Mkwanda has advised and encouraged people within Kanengo Police jusisidction and beyond to report sexual related cases against young girls to Police
and other relevant authorities so that the culprits be brought to book and face the law.

John comes from Masanjara Village, T/A Jadewere in Chiradzuru District while Fostino hails from Malemia Village, T/A Malemia in Nsanje District.
