UDF vows ‘reform and opening up’ as Muluzi leads push to rebuild party
The United Democratic Front (UDF) is promising a shake-up, with party leader Atupele Muluzi vowing to open the doors to fresh ideas and new faces as the party tries to rebuild.

Muluzi said he had held a “successful and constructive” meeting with UDF Regional Governors, who represent all nine administrative regions, to discuss how to strengthen, reform and revitalise the party.
The talks focused on building a “more vibrant, united and inclusive” UDF that responds to the aspirations of ordinary Malawians, he said.
The party plans to tighten its structures and empower leaders at every level.
“The journey to rebuild and reposition the UDF is underway,” Muluzi said. “Together, we will build a stronger party, ready to serve the people of Malawi.”
His statement closed with a three-part slogan: “Reform and Opening Up. A Stronger UDF. A Better Malawi.”
