Uladi says PP convention cancelled

Acting leader of erstwhile ruling People’s Party (PP) Uladi Mussa has said the party will not hold a national convention this year as guided by their constitution.

Uladi: No PP convention this year

Mussa said PP “cannot afford holding the convention this year” but could not explain reasons behind the cancellation.

Last month the party announced that the convention will be held where all positions will be contested.

But Mussa the convention has been deferred and that a National Governing Council meeting of the party will this week decided the new dates.

“The party constitution guides us to hold convention every five years. We last held our convention in 2013 and we are expected to hold convention this year. But we have to cancel to convention this year,” he said.

Party founding president Joyce Banda is in self-imposed exile.

Just as well you cancelled the convention, it would have been a waste of resources. By the way, do you honestly dream of PP returning to power in your lifetime? It may be time to think about joining MCP and live up to your Change Goal slogan.
