The move follows the University Council’s decision permitting the search process to begin.
According to the advert in the press issued by the Registrar of Unima, the academic office in Zomba said the position currently held by Dr Emmanuel Fabiano “will fall vacant soon.”
Unima invites applicants from those who held positions of Dean, Vice-Principal, Principle and Pro Vice-Chancellor “for at least 10 years and have demonstrated capacity to inititate both academic and managerial innovations geared at making the University of Malawi a vibrant and competitive institution operating in tune with 21st century and global trends in tertially education.”
The vacancy advertisement said Unima wants candidates with “credible track record in research, teaching and management in a respectable high education institution; are mature and fully conversant with the challenges facing the University of Malawi and how to deal with them decisively.”
Meanwhile, Chancellor College has organised a Grand Alumni Reunion as part of its 40th anniversary celebrations to be held in the Great Hall.
