US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton visits Malawi

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton on Sunday morning arrived in Malawi  through Kamuzu International Airport in Lilongwe.

Clinton was welcomed by Malawi Vice President Khumbo Kachali and a number of dignitaries.

She immediately left for State House in a convoy where she is holding talks with President  Mrs. Joyce Banda.

Clinton arrived in Malawi from Kenya and is on the fourth leg of an 11-day tour of Africa. The trip began in Senegal and will take her next to South Africa.

Seen as a move to solidity US-Africa ties in the face of greater Chinese partnership, analysts expect Clinton’s trip to focus on democracy and further business cooperation between the Us and African nations.
