Wanderers in crisis meeting, heads to roll

Mighty Be Forward Wanderers  General Secretary Mike Butao has disclosed that the club executive committee is expected to meet to discuss the future of the current technical panel following last weekend’s painful defeat in the hands of old-age rivals Nyasa Big Bullets.

Coach Ng’onamo: Questions raised

The Nomads led by Head Coach Edingtone Ng’onamo lost the Blantyre derby which always come with pride at stake 1-0 courtesy of their own former home boy Kondwani ‘Scholes’ Kumwenda strike whom they off-loaded at the beginning of the season.

Speaking on Zodiak Radio on Monday, Butao pushed the whole blame o the loss to the technical panel which he said
completely lacked game plan despite having the cream of players at their disposal.

He said their rivals deserved to win because they had a better plan.

“Personally I think Bullets deserved to win because they had a better plan than us so it was a clueless perfomance and I dont know why that happened,” said Butao.

He said the executive is surprised that despite investing alot in the technical panel, they have failed to come up with a winning formula.

“We have invested alot in the technical panel, high profile coaches but we do not seem to be getting results so as an Executive we need to
sit down again and see if we have taken the right path” revealed Butao.

The meeting comes barely less than three weeks after holding another emergency meeting with the senior players and coaches over poor run of form after the team collected only a single point from a possible six in their trip to Dwangwa where they lost to Mafco 2-1 and drew 1-1 against Dwangwa United.

Meanwhile, Butao has revealed that their sponsors are unhappy and have started posing questions following the perfomance of the team
particularly in the league.

The Nomads have only impressed once this season after winning the Carlsberg Cup and are hoping to become the first team to win the
inaugural FISD Challenge Cup.

They are described as Cup specialist following their record of becoming the only team to win all the newly introduced cups on the
Malawi soil.

This weekend, the Nomads have tricky fixtures in the league away to Civo and Kamuzu Barracks on Saturday and Sunday respectively.
