Wanderers, Silver replay on Feb 18

The Super League of Malawi (Sulom) has slated Tuesday, the 18th February for decider of the 2013-2014 TNM Super League title winner replay match when Mighty Wanderers will rock horns with Silver Strikers at Kamuzu Stadium.

The match will be played without supporters apart from sports reporters, the sponsors and a few club officials.

The match was abandoned in December at the Balaka Stadium following  violence that  occurred leading to the death of a Nomad fan Lemius Joster.

Sulom melted the two clubs with bans and fines before they appealed to Football Association of Malawi which removed the bans but handed the two clubs with fines and a penalty to forfeit points in some of their games.

Fam also ruled that there should be a re-play at the Kamuzu Stadium leaving Sulom to choose the date.

On Monday, Sulom President Innocent Bottomani said they have agreed to fix the match on the 18th February 2014 after consultations.

Silver needs to win the match to retain the title.

Both the Nomads and the Bankers players have another tough assignment before their final league game following their participation in the Zambezi Challenge Cup which will take place from Saturday up to Sunday.
