Wanderers sponsors from Japan jets in

There were smiles at  Lali-Lubani Road on Wednesday following the arrival of their Be Forward sponsors from Japan, who jetted in the country via Chileka Airport .

Upon their arrival they were welcomed by Mighty Be Forward Wanderers Chairman George Chamangwana and General Secretary Mike Butao.

In a jovial mood, they joked and laughed before proceeding to Ryalls Hotel where they had fruitful discussions.

Be Forward Wanderers General Secretary Mike Butao told Nyasa Times that they were delighted with the arrival of the sponsors.

“We are so delighted and we are supposed to hold meetings on how best we can promote the team and our future plans. We are also expected to hold discussions on our plans which we want to embark on of sending some of our players to Japan,” said Butao.

The sponsors come at a time  Wanderers FC board of trustees and the club’s main supporters committee have have made up after the former nearly  dissolved the committee last week.

Trustees chairperson Rashid ‘Rashy’ Gaffar  reportedly apologised for his remarks which he described the supporters committee as “the worst in the history of the team”.

The club’s trustees secretary Patrick Jumbe and his supporters committee counterpart Wisdom Patel, that the two parties had mended the fences after  a meeting which they had at the weekend.
