Wanderers welcome back Manyozo after ban
four Be Forward Wanderers matches against Mzuni FC, Moyale Barracks, Silver Strikers and Nyasa Big Bullets, workhorse midfielder Alfred Manyozo jnr is set to return to the fold against Kamuzu Barracks in the TNM Super League set for Sunday at Balaka Stadium.
Manyozo missed out on these matches after being given a four match ban by Football Association of Malawi for what they said inciting violence during the Nomads versus Blue Eagles Carlsberg Cup semifinal match at Civo Stadium.
Manyozo, who was the captain during this match, was protesting a penalty after a Blue Eagles defender handled the ball inside the box. However, the referee waved play on resulting in supporters pelting stones for a few minutes.
Manyozo’s come back will come as a relief to the Nomads family since he has been a backbone in defending midfield role.
The player said he is looking forward to weekend game.
“We have to forget what happen over the weekend after losing to Bullets in the Carlsberg Cup final. This is a total different cup and game. We are geared and if given a chance lam ready to fight for my team,” said Manyozo.
Meanwhile, there is good news on Harry Nyirenda , who was subbed off against Bullets after sustaining a deep cut on his lower eye.
Nyirenda said he is feeling better and looking forward to resume training on Wednesday.
