Waya picked for women’s empowerment at sports indaba in SA

Malawi netball legend Mary  Waya has been chosen to attend a women’s in sports empowerment coaching seminar in Durban, South Africa from 11-14 September.

She will leave on Wednesday.

Waya said she was recommended by International Netball Federation Ifna representative Joana Smith, who is based in Namibia.

“They have offered me an air ticket and accommodation, which is very important,” she said.

She said Netball Association of Malawi (Nam) was aware of the trip.

Waya, who snubbed to renew a contract at Tanzania’s Filbert Bayi Foundation, was appointed assistant coach to Griffin Saenda for the national team
