We clapped hands for Chinoko- PAC member
A disappointed member of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has revealed that the Chairperson of the Committee, Beatrice Mwangonde led the deafening hands clap for the now disgruntled CCJP Lilongwe District Secretary Peter Chinoko after his two-hour allegation packed presentation.
“Chinoko had finished his presentation and the Chairperson Hon. Beatrice Mwangonde led the committee with hands clap, I watched in total surprise what we were to clap hands for…she said for this I will clap hands and others clapped hands,” said the MP who requested not to be named to avoid reprisal.
It is not the traditional for the committee to cheer for interrogated officials facing it even whether if the facts were exciting or not.
“We are members of a serious committee, the issue we are handling is very serious, I feel ashamed,” said the member.
Beatrice Mwangonde the PAC Chair could not be reached for her comment on why she was attempted to clap hands for a member of the Civil Society after making serious allegations against the President of a political party she represents.
