The 8th state witness in a case in which Norman Chisale, private bodyguard to former President Peter Mutharika has told the principal resident magistrate court in Lilongwe that Chisale uttered threatening words to Anti-Corruption Bureau Deputy Director General Hillary Chilomba.

The witness, Sergeant Ernest Chimanga, close protection officer to Chilomba said he overheard Chisale speaking on top of his voice and he quoted “ACB and MCP you are destroying my life”, I’m failing to pay school fees for my children, I wanted to meet the Director General”.

“The accused added that next time when he will come, he will not leave the place until the date for hearing of his case is set. He added that there will be explosions and gun shots at ACB”, added Chimanga.

Lead state lawyer in the case Prescott Mwaiulipo has told the court that two more witnesses including ACB Deputy Director General Hillary Chilomba and former Director of Public Prosecutions Dr Steven Kayuni are expected to testify today.

Earlier the state had indicated that minister of Justice Titus Mvalo would be testifying against Chisale who is answering 7 counts bordering on intimidating public officers and obstructing justice.
