Wizards, BT United opts for Mulanje Park Stadium, Master Security settle for Dedza

As teams continue setting up and fine tuning themselves ahead of the forth coming 2017 TNM Super League Season action, PremierBet Wizard FC and League returnees Blantyre United and debutants Master Security Services FC have confirmed venues they will fuse or all their home matches.

Dedza stadium to be home of Masters Security FC

Nyasa Times can reveal that Wizard and United officials have been negotiating with Mulanje District Council officials to use Mulanje Park Stadium.

Both United General Secretary Malekano Chisoma and Wizard Chairman Hophman Kondowe confirmed the development on Friday.

The two said they have separately been given green light that they will use the facility by the council officials.

“They have given us a nod but there are few things we are working on and it is my hope that everything will be finalized soon. We want Mulanje to be our home and all our home matches whether playing against what others call big or small clubs will be played at there,”
said Chisoma.

On his part, PremierBet Chairman said they will be signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Council officials on Tuesday next week.

“We are assuring all football fans that we will use Mulanje Stadium as our home ground and we are signing the MOU on Tuesday where we expect to finalized everything,” said Kondowe.

Kondowe said their intention is to share football entertainment-at highest level on the domestic scene with people of Mulanje.

“People of Mulanje are happy with the arrangement and Wizard being a team for youths, we want to reach out to youths of Mulanje district; there are also several youths there,” added Kondowe.

In a related development, 2016/17 Central Region Football League Champions Master Security who are set for their debut season in the elite league have also confirmed that they will use Dedza Stadium as their home ground.

The 2014-15 Super League relegated Dedza based side Dedza Young Soccer used the stadium before they exit in the elite League.

The current league champions Kamuzu Barracks also used Dedza stadium during 2015/16 season before they switched to Civo.

Meanwhile, Super League of Malawi (Sulom) will have to inspect and approve the stadiums before the new season kicks off.
