Woman ordered to pay fine for abducting boyfriend’s ‘extra lover’
The Magistrates court in Blantyre has convicted and fined a woman, Milliam Kachepatsonga for abducting and assaulting another woman.
Kachepatsonga 30 years old and a resident of Manja Township in Blantyre but hails from T /A Chakhumbira in Ntcheu, was arrested on August 12 this year after she assaulted Grace Wilson 22 on allegations that the latter was having an affair with her boyfriend.
According to details tendered in court by Soche Police prosecutor, constable Kelvin Kamanga, Kachepatsonga on August 12 abducted Wilson to her house and assaulted her.
Kamanga told the court that Kachepatsonga tore into pieces Wilson’s clothes including underwear before shaving her head with a razor-blade.
“At first according to the victim’s recorded facts, the accused used a pair of scissors to shave her head before using a razor-blade. She was stripped naked as her clothes were also ripped into pieces before she was let go. She had to run home naked,” Kamanga told the court.
Wilson’s shredded underwear was tendered in court as evidence.
Kachepatsonga pleaded guilty to the offense and was charged on three counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm contrary to Section 254 of the Penal Code, Malicious damage contrary to Section 344 of Penal Code and Insulting a modesty contrary to section 137 ( 3) of the Penal Code.
The court fined her on the charges K7, 000 as compensation to Wilson and K3, 000 as court fine failing which to spend one month in prison.
She however, paid the money.
