Young, Jack given Malawi coaching job
Football Association of Malawi (FAM) has appointed Young Chimodzi and Jack ‘Africa’ Chamangwana as head coach and deputy coach respectively, Nyasa Times understands.
Football Association of Malawi (FAM) executive committee meeting held in Blantyre on Saturday made the decision to hire the two Malawi football legends.
The pair were fired from the Flames’ technical panel, along with coach Kinnah Phiri, in January 2013 but FAM decided to bring them back into the fold.
Chimodzi said he will have to “think over the matter”.
While Chamangwana who said was unaware of his appointment refused to comment.
The meeting also approved the name of Franco Ndawa as team manager while Phillip Nyasulu was appointed goalkeeper trainer.

However, FAM general secretary Sugzo Nyirenda said the nation will know the names officially after the approval by government.
“We will be meeting with the government soon to discuss our proposal but we have the confidence this is a cost-effective move which they will agree to,” he said.
Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Youth and Sports Justin Saidi said government would have no problems if Chimodzi and Chamangwana will be taken back on board by FAM.
