The signing comes barely two months after the initiative’s successful “YSG Street Festival” which was held at Mbowe Park.

Confirming the social media rumours, YSG executive director Chimwemwe Jamali commonly known as Jaxstar said K2B Block is a talented group that needs serious management to reach greater heights.

“As an initiative, we are working with the youth. This is a group of young men with potential to take Malawi music to another level. We have a well drafted plan in our contract that everyone is satisfied with. We will manage the group for a year then we shall see if we have to renew it,” Jaxstar disclosed.

However, he could not reveal what the contract entails, saying: “All I can say is that the group has so much love in the streets so we won’t have problems to market them.”

In his remarks, K2B Block’s Yung Z said they couldn’t turn down the offer after seeing what YSG has been doing lately.

“We take our music seriously and YSG looks like a serious establishment. We have seen their work ethic. We are impressed and we won’t disappoint them as long as they deliver what they have promised,” Yung Z challenged.

K2B Block came into the limelight with their smash hit “Anzawo Amatseni” which also earned them a nomination at the 2014 Musicians Association of Malawi Awards (MAMMA).

The group’s other hit singles include Emtee’s “Roll up” remake “Kawale” and the newly released 2016 single “Zalowa Ndale” which has been released under YSG.
