Young people from different townships across Blantyre City on Saturday had an opportunity and meet and party at the Coca-Cola Kuphaka Life fanfare. They took part in different games and were treated to live music performances.
Held at the Blantyre Sports Club, the first event of the Kuphaka Life 2016 campaign event the youth from ChilomoniTownship came out tops in the sports games after scooping top prizes in both the boys (soccer) and girls(flaye) categories.
16 five-aside teams from Chilomoni, Kabula, Sunnyside, Manase, Nyambadwe, Chirimba, Chichiri, Ndirande Chitawira, Naperi, Soche East, Zingwangwa, Kanjedza and other townships surrounding Blantyre competed in the sports category.
Popular dance group, the Floor Steppers, outclassed two teams, Twist and Metics, to take home the prize as the best dance troupe.
Later on, Bucci, Suffix, Home Grown Africa and Tay Grin, in that order, treated the youth to live music.
Rapper Suffix was the only gospel act on the bill, decided through public vote on social media.
The Christian rapper, Bucci and Home Grown performed not more than six of their famous pieces.
However it was Tay Grin who stole the show moving the youthful audience very much near to the stage and making fans to sing along to most of his songs.
