Zikhale dumps PP, repositioning for DPP return

Former President Bingu wa Mutharika’s right hand man Dr Ken Zikhale Ng’oma has resigned as deputy campaign director of People’s Party (PP) and withdrew his membership.

Zikhale says he feels that time has come for Malawi to have very few political parties.

In the letter addressed to PP secretary General, Paul Maulidi, Zikhale said he was no longer a PP member.

“I write in submission of my resignation letter as a bonafide member of Peoples Party with immediate effect.

“I feel that Malawi as a country does not need so many Political Parties and that most political party’s ideologies are similar in nature. I personally could have loved if Peoples Party could have joined hands and worked together with Democratic People’s Party as they all belong to one family although having different species.

“I feel time has come for Malawians to learn to accommodate other people’s views even when one is under immense pressure of dislike and expectation. May I say thank you for the time we have been together in Peoples party,” Zikhale said.

Zikhale said he has not decided on his next political move.
