Zikhale surrenders March salary to Freddy victims in Blantyre

Minister of Homeland Security Ken Zikhale Ng’oma has pledged to surrender his March ministerial salary to cyclone Freddy victims in Blantyre.
Zikhale Ng’oma specifically said he will give it to the cyclone Freddy survivors in Chilobwe township, saying that is where he grew up.

He then made some monetary donations to the survivors through group village head Chilobwe during a brief presentation ceremony held at Naotcha Primary School where scores of survivors have encamped.
The minister said he decided to donate the salary as a sign of appreciation to the traditional leader and the community for their efforts in rescuing survivors and burying those who died in the disaster.
Zikhale Ng’oma also donated K200 000 to grave diggers who prepared 28 graves in a space of three days.
He also made a K100 000 donation to group village head Chilobwe for his personal use.
In his speech village head Chilobwe thanked the minister for the kind gesture.
