Bingu Stadium to host BB, Silver clash: Venues for Airtel Top 8 fixtures announced

Football Association of Malawi (FAM) has released dates and venues for first leg matches of the Airtel Top 8 competition with the Bingu National Stadium (BNS) set to host Silver Strikers and Nyasa Big Bullets clash.

According to a statement issued by FAM  competitions desk, first leg ties will be played during tge weeken of 13 and 14 May, 2017.

The statement shows that the first leg tie between Silver Strikers and Nyasa Big Bullets will be played at the BNS on Saturday 13 May while Mafco and Moyale will come face to face at Chitowe ground in an all Malawi Defence Force affair on the same day.

On Sunday 14 May, Might Be Forward Wanderers host Azam Tigers at the Balaka stadium while Kamuzu Barracks will play host to Blue Eagles at the Civo stadium.

Confirming the development to Nyasa Times, FAM Competitions Manager Gomezgani Zakazaka said all is set for the competition to commence.

…..advice FAM or SULOM to which football grounds that you deem fit. osamangolankhulapo apa.
mwina akamenyere kuPhalombe? bola you could have proposed Mulanje Park. but the organisers have their own reasons for these matches to be played at these venues

let the games begin. I don’t see any problem with hosting the games in balaka and BNS. remebre guys that before we comment lets follow events constructively. Silver and kamuzu stadium are both closed until they are declared fit to host any game. this is good for the game beyond this tournament. tizikhala amaso phenya. ili nyumba yanu mungasangalale inu ndi ana/abale anu kukhala munyumba yoti any time ikhoza kukugwerani? open up guys let these stadiums and others be renovated for the good of the game. lets just for once comment FAM and SULOM for their decisions. lets go ku… Read more »

What about the venues for return legs? FAM should provide complete information not in piece meal. I even wonder why Silver BB game be at BNS and yet Silvers’s home ground is Silver stadium

Blantyre has, according to FAM, no capacity to host such a big game. Remember Kamuzu stadium paja ikufunika kuti ikonzedwe kaye.
