Ex-Malawi coach ‘Sir’ Alex Masanjala missing, mentally unstable

Malawi Police have joined family members of  former Malawi national team respected coach Alex Masanjala who has been missing for three days now.

Masanjala’s son in law, Wilberforce Longwe has confirmed the missing of the former Flames tactician.

Longwe said Masanjala is mentally unstable since he lost his coaching job.

“We will take him to hospital when we find him. I think he has a psychological problem and this started after losing his coaching job with the national team,” said Longwe.

He said this is the third time he has been missing, saying at one point it was players who found him walking aimlessly and brought him back to his home.

Longwe said the matter has been reported to police and the former coach’s manager children who are based in Nchalo are in town to help look for their father.

Masanjala had a string of successes with the national team and his respected among his peers and players. He has graced the coaching arena for decades.

Koma mphongo behaving like that? Akula mkuluyu, in fact he needs to rest or help coaching a primary school team that is closer to where he resides. Kapena amadyaso chamba Mkuluyu!
